- 1. Is there a cost to participate in the resource sharing platform?

Platform fees are funded by the Library Services and Technology Act, from the Institute of Museum and Library Sciences, and no fees are being passed on to participating libraries.
- 2. What happens if the item my patron needs is not available from another participating FLIN SHAREit library?

While the list of library catalogs in FLIN SHAREit is pretty extensive, there are instances where a request cannot be filled within the FLIN SHAREit platform. In those cases, the State Library can act as the lender of last resort and place the request outside of the platform and the lending library will send the requested item directly to you.
- 3. Will we still be able to request items from outside of Florida?

Yes, there are other states that use the SHAREit platform and many of them have agreed to lend to Florida libraries. Your library can be profiled so that requests can be sent to these out of state libraries. If your request rolls over to the State Library, we can also search outside of Florida.
- 4. Is it possible to request articles through FLIN SHAREit?

Yes, requests for both returnables and non-returnables are supported.
- 5. My library wants to participate in the new statewide resource sharing platform. How do we get involved?

- 7. How does this impact my library’s membership in FLIN?

All organizations will be required to renew their FLIN membership. The FLIN Manual (PDF) will be updated to reflect the FLIN SHAREit platform.
