Monesia Taylor Brown

Monesia Taylor Brown has served as Director of Public Affairs and Government Relations for Walmart Inc. in Tallahassee, Florida, since 2013. Walmart Inc. operates some 4,700 stores and employs 1.5 million associates in the United States. In her role at Walmart Inc., Ms. Brown serves as the corporate representative in Florida for state and local government and directs public affairs issues. Her responsibilities include serving as the liaison for emergency disaster response and recovery, coordinating corporate community investments, managing corporate initiatives in Florida working with (i) state government on policy issues and (ii) local government on permitting and real estate citing projects.

Prior to her current role, Ms. Brown served as an attorney and a policy/government consultant, focusing on legislative and executive branch matters, including but not limited to economic development, state procurement, and education. She also worked for the State of Florida in several capacities, including general counsel to the Department of Management Services, Director of Legislative Affairs, and Chief Cabinet Aide to the Attorney General. She was also the director for the Agency for Workforce Innovation, Florida's labor agency.

Ms. Brown is a member of the board of directors of the Jacksonville Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, the Florida State Board of Education, Boys Town North Florida, Leadership Florida and the Big Bend Minority Chamber of Commerce. She also serves as chair of the Florida Juvenile Justice Foundation and is a member of the Florida Chamber Foundation, Leadership Florida's Cornerstone Class 28, and the Tallahassee Airport Advisory Committee.

She earned a BA from Illinois State University and a JD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Law School and is a member of the Florida Bar.

Ms. Brown is married to Junious D. Brown III and a proud mother of two, Jay and Evan.
