MEDIA ADVISORY: Florida Secretary of State Cord Byrd Media Availability Tonight (2022 General Election - 11/8/2022)

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –

Florida Secretary of State Cord Byrd will be available to the media to discuss Florida’s 2022 General Election this evening at the Department of State’s R.A. Gray Building at 8:30 p.m. Eastern Time. The press availability will be in the Department’s Gallery for Innovation and the Arts on the first floor. Press will need to be prepared to show their press credentials.

Florida’s preliminary election results will be available on Election Night on the Florida Election Watch website, FloridaElectionWatch.Gov. Please be aware that while Florida polls close at 7:00 p.m., Florida has two time zones. Voting will not be completed statewide until 7:00 p.m. Central Time/8:00 p.m. Eastern Time, at which time, preliminary election results will be released.  Visitors to the site will be able to track results by county and compare state and county contest results.

As a reminder, election results reporting occurs in phases before official certification. Unofficial results from county canvassing boards are due later than Saturday, November 12. Official results from county canvassing boards are due no later than Sunday, November 20. The Elections Canvassing Commission certifies those election results on Tuesday, November 22, 2022.
