The Museum of Florida History and the Knott House Museum will be open on Veterans Day with planned activities.

DATE: Wednesday, November 11, 2015

TIME: Museum of Florida History opens at 10 a.m. Knott House Museum opens at noon

LOCATION: Museum of Florida History, R. A. Gray Building, 500 South Bronough Street, Tallahassee Knott House Museum, 301 East Park Avenue, Tallahassee

DESCRIPTION:

Museum of Florida History
  • Write letters to veterans thanking them for their service
  • “We can do it” photo op available for visitors who would like to recreate the iconic World War II poster
  • Special tours of the Museum’s WWII exhibit throughout the day
  • World War II Heritage Trail guide available for visitors
  • The Egg Express Cafe opens to patrons at 10 a.m.
Knott House Museum
  • Tours focusing on life on the home front during WWII
  • A special airplane spotting activity available for kids to find and identify silhouettes of WWII planes
  • World War II Heritage Trail guide available for visitors

ABOUT THE MUSEUM OF FLORIDA HISTORY:
The Museum of Florida History is part of the Florida Department of State's Office of External Affairs and is located in the R. A. Gray Building at 500 South Bronough Street, Tallahassee, Florida. Hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Sunday and holidays, noon to 4:30 p.m. Free parking is available in the garage next to the R. A. Gray Building.
